SOS is a development and runtime system that allows you to createportable, dynamically-extensible, management applications (adapters) andrun them in a secure environment. SOS is based on a multithreaded,dynamically extensible model that is called "management by delegation". Amanagement application can consist of multiple modules (programs,libraries, scripts) that can be dynamically delegated into a SOS daemon(smartsd), either locally or remotely. Any delegated module can beinstantiated in multiple threads of execution, allowing for veryefficient implementation of a management application.
